BONES HAS FOUND HER FOREVER HOME

This is a quick update on Bones:

I have been meaning to post this for sometime now but just never got round to it for several reasons...Anyway, Bones was adopted at the end of November last year by a really nice family. They were undoubtedly very concerned about her history and went to great lengths to ensure that Bones would adapt well in their family.

They came to visit Bones prior to adopting her and spent a couple of hours just sitting down and waiting for her to warm up to them. Then they agreed to a couple of play sessions at their home to enable Bones to get used to their home, before we dropped Bones off with them as a new member of their family.

Anyway, here are some pictures of Bones with her new family...

BONES' FIRST OUTING WITH OTHER DOGGIES AND KIDS

BONES HAS BEEN ADOPTED BY A LOVELY FAMILY

 ******************************
Folks, we really need to get Bones either adopted or into foster by the end of the month as we will be away for the whole of December. Please, please help us get Bones a good home ASAP. Otherwise we may have no choice but to send her to a shelter.
Please email me at cleopatrathelabrador@gmail.com or call me at 016-3228816.

***************************

12/11/11 - We took Bones on her first outing on Saturday, and she had a blast. She gets along well with other dogs and is also good with well behaved children that will not scare her or be rough with her.

Please help Bones find a good and loving home. For a little love and affection, Bones will be the most loyal companion one could ask for. Email me at cleopatrathelabrador@gmail.com if you would like to adopt her.

BONES IS MUCH BETTER

So we picked Bones up a week ago, and we weren't sure if she would make it. She was severely malnourished and dehydrated, she had a massive maggot wound on her face, and her body temperature was well below normal. After round the clock care - 5 small meals of keeble, boiled chicken and yoghurt; hot water bottles and Oxyfresh, she is now starting to look and behave like a puppy should... YAY!!!

She went for a blood test on Friday and we'll be picking up the results this week. Hope she gets the all clear.

Her wound is also healing very nicely... :)

Bones

While walking Cleo & Lucky this morning, they suddenly took a great interest in a bush. Usually, I let them sniff for a while and then carry on walking and they would ordinarily leave it, even if there was a cat or squirrel lurking about.

But today they just refused to leave and tried to burrow into the bush. As they are both pretty big dogs it took me a while to get them away, and then I saw this poor little puppy hiding under the bush...

I just could not bring myself to leave her there, and so she came home with us...

We have decided to call her Bones as she is literally skin and bones and had a huge maggot wound on her jaw (about 20 maggots were removed!). She has been to the vet and her body temperature is very low. Am keeping her warm with a Thundershirt and also a hot water bottle wrapped in a fluffy rug...

She is severely malnourised and dehydrated. She weighs a mere 2.5 kgs... Am feeding her small meals every 3 hours. We have to also force her to drink cause she just doesn't seem to have any energy.

The next few days are critical and we can only hope that she will make it through...
