Walking the Kids

I think my neighbours must think I am mad cause the kids and I go out really early for our walks these days, i.e. when it's still dark... The reason being that I have recently started a new project where the client requires me to be on site everyday. And as I feel that the kids need to go out eventhough I have to go to work, I have made it a point to wake up extra early to take them before I dash out to work...

It can be quite dangerous to walk in the dark cause you can't be seen, so I ordered these High Visibility Vests for them. It's quite funny when all the people in the cars that go by, do a double take! I think we're the only people with really strange equipment for our dogs...

I guess I just want to highlight to everyone that it is really important to keep your dogs safe when you are out with them. Make sure that they are leashed and visible to prevent any untoward incidents!

Scruffy Needs a Home

2 May 2011

SCRUFFY HAS BEEN ADOPTED
*********************************************

Hello, my name is Scruffy.
I am about 2 or 3 months old now and am looking for a forever home.

I used to live in the Hulu Kelang market. I was very sick and suffering from a severe case of sarcoptic mange. Because of that people didn't like me and used to kick me to get me away from them.

I could not understand why they couldn't see that all I wanted was for someone to love me, epsecially since my mommy died from eating some poisoned food...

Thankfully I was rescued from the market and my condition has improved significantly. My skin no longer smells bad, and all the nasty crusty stuff has gone away. My fur is starting to grow again too...

My carers think that I should be able to go to my new home soon.

As you can see I am a playful and energetic puppy but I am also a quick learner. I will do anything to please my new "parents".

I have already started potty training and I am proud to say that I can now hold my bladder for over 2 hours. My carers are very pleased with my progress, as I have already learnt not to "poo" in my crate. I have had ZERO poo acidents after my first day of potty training! :)

I will need lots of exercise, and hope to be able to go for daily walks. I will also need some obedience training, but I will need someone who will teach me with kindness and patience. I would like someone who will also spend time with me, and not leave me all alone for long periods.

I will be a faithful, loyal and loving companion,

Please call my carer, Natasha, at 016-322 8816
if you think you can find it in your heart to give me a home and family that I can call my own soon.

Lucky's Progress with Clicker Training

Grooming Rusty

Rusty is another one of our rescued dogs... He came to us some years ago through an acquaintance who found him in the middle of the road... He somehow sustained pretty serious injuries to his head, and this resulted in him becoming partially blind. His left eye is almost completely blind and his right eye isn't that great either.

Anyway, he lives with my dad, and is doing pretty well. He has learnt where everything is and has stopped bumping into things like he used to when he first arrived.

Anyway, he hasn't been very well recently and so we have not been able to send him to the groomers as he would get into a real frenzy if we put him into the car. And so I decided that I had to do the job myself as his fur was getting terribly long!!!

This was Rusty before getting his fur clipped by yours truly - looking rather grouchy!

And this is Rusty (with Jesse our other rescued Lab in the background), 3 hours and 2 aching arms later- looking quite alot chirpier... Although I must say it's not exactly a very stylish look!

CLEO IS 6 YEARS OLD TODAY...

Cleo with us on our wedding day...

Our darling Cleo is 6 years old today... We first saw her on Jan 25 2005. She was the last puppy of her litter and no one wanted her because she was really tiny, i.e. the runt of the litter. A friend fo a friend of a friend asked if we would like to have her because she was not "sale-able"...

We fell in love with her as soon as we saw her and brought her home with us. We're so lucky to have her in our lives and can't imagine what it would be like without her...

So here are some pictures of various stages of her life with us...
